Lois Brenda Kirkpatrick Allen entered peacefully into eternal rest o Monday, July 13, 2020 at the age of 74. She was a native of Washington, D.C. and a resident of Algiers, LA. Brenda attended Cosmetology School in Seaside, CA. As a professional cosmetologist, she could compete with the best stylists around. Brenda was always a hard worker, a quality that was instilled in her from a very young age. Her life was one of learning, she never let not knowing be a reason for not doing. As a military spouse, she sat on boards across bases and hosted new young military families as they arrived for their new assignments.  She was employed with L&R Security Service and retired as a captain after more than 20 years of service. Beloved wife of 51 years to Mack Allen, Sr. Devoted mother of Donna Marie McDonald, Monique Yvette Coler, Marsheilah Denice Lyons (William), Annias Bismark Allen (Sonja), and the late Doris McDonald.  Stepmother of Kevin, Michael, and Mack Allen. Loving grandmother of Dominique Lyons, Danicia Lyons, Gary Lyons II, Gavin Lyons, Demetria Lyons, Darren Coler (Mikequil), Dwayne Coler (Joel), Deion Coler, Demequis Godfrey, Marshay Smith (Quentin), William Lyons III, Annias Bismark Allen II, Jared Shelton, Annia Shelton, Ayanana Shelton, Ahmaya Allen, Ariana Allen and Anisa Allen. Daughter of the late William Kirkpatrick II and Doris Haggins.  Great niece of the late Georgia “Gigi” and Bismark “Bizzy“Turner, who were instrumental in her rearing. Mother-in-law of the late Gary Lyons I and Darren Coler, Sr.  Lois is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Williams, 17 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, extended family members and many special friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE STREET GRETNA, LA on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Mike Horchak of Fellowship Community Church, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.  Interment: Southeast Louisiana Veteran Cemetery, Slidell, LA on Friday, July 24, 2020.
