FLOYD SMITH, JR.

Floyd “D Last Floyd” Smith, Jr., departed this life on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the age of 76. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Houston, TX. Floyd was a former employee of Kraft’s Food Store in New Orleans, LA. Beloved husband of Brenda Smith. Devoted father of Deborah Smith,  Pamela Smith, Kim Smith, Kentrel  Dixson, Sr., Ajoke Shontelle Onifade, Treva Earin, Lavar Smith, Angelette Smith, and Quentin Smith, Sr. Son of the late and Floyd Smith, Sr. and  Johnnie Mae Smith. Brother of Willie Smith, Sr., Annie Mae Smith Jackson, and the late James Smith, Nathaniel Smith, and Clara Green. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, 2 sons, 2 grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter. Floyd is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church 2012 Washington Ave. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Pastor G. R. Washington, Jr., officiating. Viewing will begin at 8:00a.m. until  10:00a.m. ONLY at the above named church.  Interment: Providence Park Cemetery-Metairie, LA.
