Luvenia Annette Cotton Johnson

Luvenia Annette Cotton Johnson, entered into heaven on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at her residence at the age of 73 years. Mother Luvenia as she was affectionately called, was an Ordained Minister/Evangelist who worked in the kingdom, witnessing, praying, counseling, preaching, teaching the word of God, and encouraging people. Her mission work brought her too many places both here in the United State and abroad including Belize, St Croix, and South Africa. The impact she left on the lives of all who knew her will forever be remembered. Beloved wife of the late Aaron Johnson, Sr. Loving mother of Michael Jackson, Vera J. (Reginald) Wilson, Gelinda C. (Claude, Sr.) Gougisha, Deborah Cotton, Demetris (Estine) Cotton, Samantha J. McGee, Aaron (Dionne) Johnson, Jr., Denise J. (Louis) Harris, Nicole J. Florent, Troy (Diedra), Mark, Derrick (Beth), Chene and Daniel Johnson and the late Gregory Cotton. Grandmother of the late Luvenia and Amani. Great-grandmother of the late Lee. Daughter of the late Thomas and Rosetta S. Cotton. Sister of Helen Whitehead, John Cotton, Sr. and the late Leroy Simpson, Laura Hauer, Lawrence and Majorie Williams, Vera Fluker, Jimmy and Thomas Cotton. Devoted friend of Marion Fisher and Gerry McGhee. Adopted mother of Yvonne Hughes, Rose Singleton, and Terri Lawrence. Godmother of Liz Shelton; also survived by 44 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A native of Natchez, Ms. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members, of Fulfilling the Gospel Ministries International, GOTR Church, Household of Faith Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Kindred Hospital, Ochsner Hospital, Kraft Foods, Versebar Inc., Good Samaritan, Exxon Mobile, Jefferson Parish Drainage Dept. and River Discount are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Household of Faith Church, 2074 Paxton St. Harvey, La. on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Antoine Barriere, host pastor, Apostle Reginald Wilson of Fulfilling the Gospel Ministries International, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
