Nicolette Christina Grind

Nicolette Christina Thompson-Grind, an educator with the Jefferson Parish School Board, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the age of 41. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Neekie or Ms. TG, as she was affectionately known by family and friends was a graduate of Xavier Prep High School and Dillard University where she received a Bachelor of Art Degree in Education. She continued her studies at Southeastern University earning a master’s degree +30 in Administration and Supervision. Nicolette was currently an Academic Dean at Meisler Middle School. She was a proud member of New Orleans Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Beloved wife of Robert Grind. Devoted mother of Langston Grind. Stepmother of Tamara Conciauro. Loving daughter of Adrianne Thompson and the late Clark Thompson. Granddaughter of Ella Louise Ford and the late Bernadette Simeon. Sister of Justin (Aisha) Rivers, Stanley (Arvinder) Williams, Claudis Thompson, Stacey (Roland, Jr.) Ledeuff, and Colleen (Nestor) Rodriguez. Daughter-in-law of the late Cordettis Grind and T. S. Wallace; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St Stephen Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of Xavier Prep Class of 1992; employees of Jefferson Parish Public School System; faculty, staff and students of Meisler Middle School; Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Board of Directors of Audubon Charter School are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church.
