XA'LIA HYACINTH ELIZABETH STARKS

Xa’lia Hyacinth Elizabeth Starks entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the age of 21. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. “LiLi”, as she was affectionately known to her family, was a graduate of Helen Cox High School Class of 2020. She was a member of the volleyball team, R.O.T.C., and her very own school’s mascot. She was employed as a security guard. Xa’lia’s smile and laughter were contagious, she would light up a room. She will be remembered for her love of family, dancing, and zest for life. Beloved daughter of Michelle Kirlew and the late Kristopher Glenn Starks. Stepdaughter of Vichaun Porter. Loving sister of Xa’von Starks (her twin). Granddaughter of Joseph (Debbie) Starks, Jr., Carrie Oatis Starks, Rita Benjamin, and the late Eric St. Orbin Kirlew and Anne Elizabeth Kirlew. Niece of Javora (Terrence, Sr.) Williams, Kimberly (Howard) Curtis, Danaka (Howard) Fluker, Joseph III, Kerry (Jennifer), and Jarell (Dan’Renata) Starks, Orlando (Nita) Spencer, Felicia Dickerson, Jasmine Kirlew (Justin), Eboni (Ness) Clark, Mia (Christohper) Dankulich, Eric (Shauntel) Dickerson, and the late Jermaine Aubrey Starks and Erika Kirlew. Great niece of Melba Alexander, Etta (Michealin Sr.) Sylve, Terry (Sophia) Starks, Calvin Oatis, Hezron (Wanda) Kirlew, Paula (Curtis) Phillip, Shellen DeVaughn, Gina (Monica) Dickerson, Vincent (Zelma) Dickerson, James Dickerson, Paul (Cheryl) Devoux, and Nicholas (Terri) Dickerson. Special friend of Dorotie, Raiya, Kiera, Pauiliria, Jjuan, Breia T., Ja’myri, Bria B., Leosha, Lyndon, Dewana, and the Dunn Family; also survived by a host of cousins and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of WestPoint Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend a Memorial Service at WestPoint Church, 664 Behrman Highway Terrytown, LA on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 10:00a.m.  Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA.
