Willie Wells, Sr., age 82, departed his earthly vessel and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Willie was a retired Merchant Marine; he also worked at Charity Hospital as a morgue technician. While working at Charity he enrolled in school to become a licensed mortician. He was a former employee of Dennis Mortuary, Dorothy Lawless Mortuary, and Davis Mortuary Service. Beloved husband of the late Vesta Brown Wells. Loving father Karen (Gerald) Ellzey, Stephanie Wells, Willie Wells, Jr., Lisa (Paul) Nellums, and Stacia Coleman. Stepfather of Katie Guice , Fardrel (Susan) Guice, and Michele (Michael) Colton. Grandfather of Hilton Wayne (Nicole), Lakicha , and Alicha Ellzey, Kendra Spenser, Ashley Taylor, George Taylor, Michael, Desiree, Willie III, and Cieria Wells, James Cosey, Julius Cosey, Paulisha Nellums, Zaria Butler, Chanell (Bruce) Woods, Channel (Brandon) Thomas, Racquel (Blake) Fontenette, Farrell, and Arielle Guice, Christal, Giselle, and Keaton Bocage.   Son of the late Willis and Gertrude Wells. Brother of the late Miller Jackson, Lucille Lowery, Welma Jackson, Goldie Amedee, Johnny Gaberial, and Fannie Wellls Combre; he was also preceded in death by his 1^st wife Marie Ledet Wellls Davis. Willie is also survived by 31 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA ON Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Welma Jackson, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time. Interment: Mt.
