Willie George Ford, Jr. entered into eternal rest at his residence on Thursday July 7, 2022, at the age of 66. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Willie was a graduate of L. B. Landry Jr. Sr. High School Class of 1973. Ford, as he was affectionately called by some, served his country in the United States from 1973 to 1976 and received the National Defense Service Award.  Willie was employed as a security guard, landscaper and at Café Du Monde in the French Quarter. Beloved husband of Anna Salvant Ford. Loving father of Wylece A. Ford. Stepfather of Richard Johnson, Jr., and Michael Abanda, Jr.  Son of the late Willie George Ford, Sr., and Flowerzella Franklin Ford. Brother of Betty Charles (late Bobby) Broussard, Carolyn Ford (Edward) Fields, and Shirley M. Ford.  Nephew of Mandy Forbes. Willie is survived by 4 step granddaughters, 3 step grandsons all of whom called him POP, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends, also tenants of St Maurice Village (in the Ninth Ward) and of course let’s not forget his 3 pets Uncle Fields, Simba, and Coco. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Asbury United Methodist Church, Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches; St Maurice Village, employees of V. A. Hospital are invited to attend the Memorial Services at Davis Mortuary, 230 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Clifton Conrad officiating.
