WALTER JOSEPH

Walter Joseph, affectionally known as “PawPaw” and “Uncle Walter”, peacefully transitioned to his final resting place on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the age of 69. He was a native of St. James, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Walter retired from Royal Chemical Inc., where he was employed for over 40 years. Beloved husband of 34 years to Sylvia McIntyre Joseph. Stepfather of Antionette Alexander and Tiwana Alexander (Robert) Duplessis. Loving grandfather of Destiny, Antonio, Trinity, and Anaya Alexander. Son of the late Welmon Joseph, Sr. and Victoria Joseph. Stepson of the late Nylie Joseph. Brother of Paul “Wilbert” (Marie) Joseph, Rose Miller, Ethel Fisher, and the late Alvin, Welmon, Jr. Octave, Gistarve, Sr., Herbert, Rev. Edward and Octavia Joseph, and Earline Smallwood. Son-in-law of the late Eddie McIntyre, Sr. and Ruby McIntyre. Brother-in-law of Eddie, Jr., William “Billy”, Wardell and Nolan McIntyre, Ethel, Gladys and Sarah Joseph, Ethel Rosenthal, Iola Ayche, Burnetta McDonald, Angel Raiford, Linda Wilson, and the late Samuel Custard and Rebecca McIntyre. Walter is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church and Second Zion Baptist Church, priest, and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Royal Chemical Inc., and Jefferson Parish Public System are invited to attend the Homegoing Service at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, 236 Robinson Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Melvin C. Zeno, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
