WADE TAPLET

Wade Taplet passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the age of 61, surrounded by family. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Wade was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School class of 1983. He was employed as a facility engineer with the University of New Orleans for many years and worked offshore with various companies. Later, he retired from Phillip 66 Alliance Refinery in Belle Chasse. Wade loved spending time with family and friends, joking, cooking, and he was avid Los Angeles Rams fan. Devoted and loving husband of 29 years to Sheryl Lynn Moody Taplet. Bonus father of Jalen Lockett. Son of late August Hubbard and Ann Maud J. Taplet. Brother of Shelia T. Gibson, Celia Pedescleaux, Patricia Floyd, Audry H. Carter, Milton (Mannie) Hubbard, James Hubbard, Bernard (Veronica) Hubbard, and the late Sandra T. Jones, Gertrude (Trudy) Taplet, Kirk W. Taplet, Albert Taplet, III, and Alvin Hubbard. Son in law of Marion Moody. Brother in law of Jimmy Lee Nelson. Godfather of Victoria Bush, Asia Brumfield, and Courtney Williams. Wade is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 1509 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Orin Grant, Sr. officiating.
