Vida “Mae West” Thibeaux Lewis, age 74, entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. She was a native of Lafayette, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Vida was employed for many years as a housekeeper at Touro Hospital. Beloved wife of 44 years to the late Alton J. Lewis, Jr. Loving mother of Karen Lewis (Darin) Perry, Charlene Lewis (Alfred) Carter, Jeronde Lewis (Lloyd) King, Keywanna Lewis (Ron) Saulsberry, LakKisha Lewis (Kenyon) Leonard, and the late Donna Lewis. Daughter of the late Lucius and Mabel Thibeaux. Sister of the late Lorita “Blaze” Lewis, Ernest “Bae Bae”, John Elair, Kinnery “Broda” Elair, and Clifford “Tboy” Elair. Vida is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m.; Recitation of Rosary 8:45a.m.; followed by Tribute.
