VERNON JONES

Vernon Jones entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the age of 83. He was a native of Norco, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Vernon was a graduate of Bethune High School, and he was a retired laborer with St Charles Grain Elevator. He served his country in the United States Army for 3 years, where he received commendations for good conduct and expert rifle M-14. Beloved husband of Barbara Patin Wilson Jones. Loving father of Aileen Jones (Louis) Thomas, Jonathan (Jennifer) Jones, Lincston Jones, Sr. (Vernetta Lee), and the late Renata Orlette Jones Straughter, Stacy Jones, and Renaud Jones. Great grandfather of the late Marckia O. Jones. Son of the late Robert Louis Jones and Thelma Williams Jones. Brother of Robert (Belinda) Jones, Harold (Mary Ann) Jones, Sr., David Aaron (Marguerite) Jones, Ellis Patrick Jones, Jackie C. (Cheryl) Jones, Sherman A. Jones, Sr., Margaret Ann Jones Anderson, Sylvia Marie Jones Sanderful, Marilyn Jones Ursin, Earline Jones Obleton, and the late Ethel L. Jones Cammon, Paulette Jones, and Emily Lou Jones, also survived by 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church 47 Cathy St. Norco, LA on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Tyrone Scott officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., at the above named church.
