TYRIS DA'CHARD PREATTO

February 25, 1995 — July 3, 2022

Tyris Da’Chard Preatto departed this life on Sunday, July 3, 2022. He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Tyris was an honors graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and served as President of the Student Government Association for two years. He was named Athlete of the Year, and he received an Outstanding Athlete Award in Basketball, and his Jersey was retired; his jersey still hangs in the Smoothie King Center today. During his Senior year in High School, he received many awards in Track and Field. During the Awards Ceremony, Tyris voluntarily gave his award to a fellow classmate who had not received any awards. This Act of Kindness was just one of the many attributes of this beautiful humble young man. He attended Northwestern University on a Track and Field Scholarship. Tyris was formerly employed at Raising Canes in Marrero for many years. He was recently employed with FedEx in Marrero. Tyris was a people person, who never met a stranger. He had a contagious personality that
was so warm and friendly. Tyris will be remembered for his infectious smile, love for kids, cooking, and entertaining. His genuine Love and Care for people was unmatched. Devoted and loving son of Tyna Preatto. Birth son of Sonya Harry. Brother of De’Andre Harry, Shamya and Mykayla Johnson. Uncle of Sahar and Sai Harry. Grandson of Ruth Martin and the late Clarence and Emelda Preatto, and Martin Harry, Sr. Great grandson of the late Leander and Olivia Harry, Lucy and Earl Martin, Sr. Nephew of Jelata Preatto Jordon, Gina (David) Jones, Veronique (Donald) Lewis, Tanya Ross, Rodney (Shawndel) Preatto, Ron Preatto, Martin Harry Jr., Daryl (Tabitha) Harry, and Rhinell Paynes Jr. Godfather of J’Toir, Kennedy, Gavin, Sy’mari, and Semaj. Godson of Tomlyn Cross, Dawn Brown, Danielle Bush, Edward Lofton, Sr., George Lunkin, Kenneth Forges. Bonus son of Musheerah Cambrice. Cousin of the late Martin Harry, III and Delanta McCall. Best friend of Ken Wiseman, Dina Parker, Mike Bazile, and Darrell
Johnson; also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of New Life Fellowship and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Life Fellowship 512 Opelousas Ave. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Stanley Moore officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA.
