THELMA ROBINSON BENJAMIN

Thelma Robinson-Benjamin, age 95, transitioned peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2023. She was a native of Paincourtville, LA, and a resident of Harvey, LA. Thelma was a retired nursing assistant. She was a member of Austerlitz Street Baptist Church for over 70 years, where she served on the Usher Board for most of those years. Beloved mother of RoseMary B. Walker, Louis Joseph Benjamin, Lloyd (Joyce) Benjamin, and Darrell (Wanda) Benjamin. Loving grandmother of Lance Spencer (Brenda) Vaughn, Yezette (Percy) White, Kecia (Darian) Black, Amira Benjamin, and Simeon Benjamin. Great grandmother of Xzania (Gerald) Lee, Arimani (Terrell) Lamb. Great great grandmother of Noah Lee, Isaiah Lee, and Teagan Lamb. Daughter of the late Louis and Ophelia Robinson. Sister of Henry (Barbara) Robinson and the late Caldonia Nicholas, Milton Robinson, and Ora Hills. Godmother and aunt of Monique Hills-Webber.  Mother-in-law of the late Alvin J. Walker, Sr. Sister-in law of Semone and Ivory Hartsuck, and the late Venola Robinson, and Alton Nicholas. Former wife of the late Louis Benjamin. Also cherishing her memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Austerlitz Street Baptist Church, Second Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Avenue Marrero, LA on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 10:00a.m.  Pastor James Nelson Brown, host pastor; Pastor Sherman Washington, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
