Terrell Glenn Washington, Jr., affectionately known as “Lil Terrell” and “TJ,” departed this life on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the age of 41. He was a native of Marrero, LA, a former resident of Dallas, TX, and most recently resided in Atlanta, GA. Terrell was a 2003 graduate of John Ehret High School and continued his studies at Xavier University of Louisiana, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He later received a master’s degree in Accounting from Tulane University. Terrell was a dedicated employee for over 16 years with the United States Department of Defense as an Auditor. He was known for his discipline and unforgettable communication style, boldly sharing his voice through his podcast, “Say It With Your Chest.” Beloved husband of Cecilie Washington. Loving father of Zoe Eva Washington and Bailey Ray Washington (Sharon Gardner). Cherished son of Terrell Glenn and Deborah Coler Washington, Sr. Grandson of the late Henry James and Audrey Lee Williams Washington and Wilbert and Eva Cavens Coler, Sr. Adored big brother of Raynell Washington. Nephew of Kim “Nanny” Washington; Darren (Tricia) Washington; Henry Eric (Narda) Washington; Brenda Coler Meridith; Gay Coler (Anthony) Hartley; Burnett Harris; and the late Mary Coler White, Jeanetta Coler Wilson, Ethel Coler Harris, Wilbert Coler, Jr., Ronald Coler, Larry Coler, and Darren Coler, Sr. Great-nephew of Yvonne and Herbert Washington; Idella Washington; Ruby Williams; Carolyn Black; Joseph (Robin) Williams; Lucy Williams; Carlene Fulton; and Rosalie Williams. Also cherishing his memory are his parents-in-law, Jeffrey and Antoinette Morrow Byrd, along with a host of family, dear friends, in-laws, colleagues, and all whose lives were touched by his presence and love. Relatives and friends of the family, also priests and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and neighboring churches, are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Father Sidney O. Speaks, Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m-9:45 a.m.; Recitation of the Rosary 8:30 a.m.; followed by Tribute. Interment: Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
