TANYA DENEEN LEE

Tanya Deneen Lee, age 59, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Thursday, April 20, 2023, with her siblings by her side. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Houston, TX since 1988. Tanya was a 1982 graduate of O. Perry Walker Senior High School and continued her studies at Delgado Community College. In May of 1988 she obtained an Associate of Business Studies Degree in Business Administration. Following college, Tanya worked in sales, serving as an Operations Manager for various companies in New Orleans and Houston. Tanya’s biggest priority was her family, who she religiously called daily and checked in on each of them.  Her considerate acts of selflessness were truly an inspiration to everyone she met. Beloved daughter of Edward (Jennifer) Lee, Jr. and the late Sheila Thornton Lee. Granddaughter of the late Edward Lee, Sr., Lucille Gastinell Lee, Henry Thornton, and Alice Thomas Barnes.    Loving sister of Dawn Lee (Gary) Majors, Edward Lee, III, Rashan (Quincy) Johnson, and Rashell Glover. Devoted aunt of Gabrielle Milan Majors. Significant other of Perry Newton. Niece of Missionary Darnella Thornton Lambert, Peggy Thornton, Keacha Barnes, Evangelist Gretchen (Bishop Larry, Sr.) Abernathy, Diane (Terry) Flemmings, Veronica St. Cyr, Superintendent Keith E. (Jacqueline) Thornton, Sr., Rickey Barnes, Jerry Lee, Rogers James Lee, and the late Grace Carol Lee. Great niece of Rosemary Hughes and Leona Roy. Also cherishing her love and encouragement are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Brentwood Baptist Church and Windsor Village United Methodist Church of Houston, TX, Second Baptist Church, Thompson Temple Church of God in Christ, Living Word Family Worship Center, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Oliver Cyprian, Jr. of Living Word Family Worship Center, officiating.
