STEVEN TYRONE GRIFFIN

Steven “Steve” Tyrone Griffin departed this life at St. Joseph Skilled Nursing on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the age of 61. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Steve was a 1982 graduate of John Ehret High School and was employed as an Offshore Oil Rigger. Beloved husband of Suzanne Hudson Griffin. Devoted father of Shannon, Brandon, Tirrell, Shantrell, Kantrell, Kendal, Sr., and Courtney Hudson. Son of Jessie Thomas and the late Walker Griffin, Sr. Stepson of Larry Thomas. Grandson of the late Jessie and Ressie Engham. Loving brother of Ted (Brenda) Griffin, Artis Thomas, Ressie (Wayne) Fairley, April (Tyrone) Scott, and the late Walter Griffin, Jr and Allison Acker. Uncle of the late Kawayne Griffin. Godson of the late Norman and Thelma Christoff, and Brandon Chisholm. Son-in-law of the late Wilbert Hudson, Sr. and Theresa Hudson. Steve is also survived by 5 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1219 Cohen Street, Marrero, LA on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Albert Mickel, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery, Westwego, LA.
