Stella Louise Favorite departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2022. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Stella attended Lincoln High School and was a retired seamstress with Deans Gate Sewing Factory. She was a former employee of Marrero Floral Shop and Gambino Bakery. Stella lived in the Walkertown community of Marrero, and was Co-Chair of the Walkertown Historical Committee, and a board member of Embracing Community & Families Historical Society. In 2012 she was awarded a Certificates of Appreciation and Outstanding Service from the Walkertown Historical Committee. Stella will be remembered as a family and community icon. Beloved daughter of the late Louis Favorite, Sr. and Leola Garrison-Brown. Stepdaughter of the late Vernita R. Favorite. Granddaughter of the late Sterling Garrison, Ellen Hicks Garrison-Batiste, Christof and Rosalie Favorite. Loving sister of Joyce Favorite-Myles, Russell Favorite, Sr., Connie (Zackary) Eugene, Louis (Kathy)Favorite, Jr., Lydia Favorite, Gregory Favorite (Aquanette), and the late Gloria Dixon. Niece of Cecile Garrison Carter and Dorothy Rosemore Ellis- Hunter. Aunt of the late Russel Favorite, Jr. Devoted cousin of Dianne Coleman, Nathan Gorrell and the late Doris Banks. Godmother of Todd Dixon, Damon Brown, LaTasha McCullen, and Kearston Collins. Sister-in-law of the late Charles Dixon and MacArthur Myles. Sister-in-love to Lorretta Baptiste, Lorenza McCullen, and Linda LeBlanc. Although Stella never had any children of her own, she was a mother figure to a host of nieces, nephews, and children in her community life to cherish her memory. Stella is also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Ernest Weber, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
