SIDNEY RUFFIN

Sidney Ruffin entered eternal rest in Fort Worth, TX on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the age of 74. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Sidney was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School, and he was a retired foreman. Beloved husband of the late Patricia “Pat” Ruffin. Devoted father of Tanya Barnett, Tyelga  Kearny (Lilly), Catina Ruffin (Eric), Tomika Jordan Phillip (Damon), Kizzy Ruffin, and Cyd Martin (Kellie). Grandfather of the late Tyelga J. Dixon. Son of the late Ceasar and Anna Mae Ruffin. Grandson of the late William and Mary Ross, Olivia and Wesley Ruffin. Brother of Weldon (Patricia) Ruffin Webster Ruffin, Sylvia Alford, Judy (Sherdrick) Jones, and the late Anna Belle Ruffin, Glenda Ann Ruffin Stewart, and Ceasar Ruffin, Jr. Uncle of the late Christy Lynn Gould. Father in law of the late Darrell Jordan. Son in law of the late Florence B. Morland. Godson of the late Wesley and Stella Woods. Former husband of Karen Ruffin, also survived by 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, members of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1737 L. B. Landry Ave. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Norman N. Francis Host Pastor - Pastor Ricky Johnson officiating.
