REV. SHIRLEY DILLON WEBB

Rev. Shirley Dillon Webb, age 77, transitioned to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at University Medical Center. She was a native of Franklinton, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Rev. Webb was a 1964 graduate of Washington Parish High School, and she attended Grambling State University. She also obtained a bachelor and master’s degree in Christian Education from Union Baptist College and Theological Seminary. Through her ministries she received a certificate in Pastoral Care from The McFarland Institute.  Rev. Webb was employed with LSU AgCenter Extension Food & Health Nutritional Program and retied after over 30 years of service.  Rev. Webb was licensed to preach the Gospel by Elder Donald L. Robinson at Mount Moriah Baptist Church and ordained at East St. Paul Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, TX by the late Rev. L. S. Wilson. Her spiritual walk has led her to serve at several churches in many different capacities, such as Youth Sunday School Teacher and Choir Member at The Asia Baptist Church; Associated Minister at Greater Liberty Baptist Church; Mount Moriah Baptist Church director of Gideon 300 Street Witnessing Ministry, New Members, Christian Education, and Vacation Bible School to jus name a few. At Mount Moriah Rev. Webb served as an Associate Minister to Elder Donald Robinson and Rev. Cyril Grayson. After her health began to decline and she was unable to attend church, Rev. Webb continued to teach Bible Study via phone conference. Beloved wife of 31 years to the late Wilse Webb, Jr. Devoted mother Rev. Derrick D. (Patricia) Webb, Sr. and the late Travis C. Webb. Loving grandmother of Derrick Webb, Jr., Derrin Webb, Alvin Lewis, Brianne LaFargue, Treyshunna Webb, and Darnelle Webb. Great granddaughter of Ashriel Amaris-Jamin Smith. Daughter of the late James and Willie Dillon. Sister of Rev. Wilbur (Barbara) Dillon, Laura Varnado, Mrytle Dillon, Min. Maxine (Freddie) Jamison, Helen (Joseph) Weary, and the late Frank Dillon, Arthur Dillon, Dr. James Dillon, Emma Love, Joyce Brumfield, and Willene Holmes. Rev. Webb is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Second Zion Baptist Church #1 and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Second Zion Baptist Church #1, 2929 Second St. New Orleans, LA on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 9:00a.m. Rev. Derrick Webb, host pastor; Pastor Cyril Grayson, officiating. Interment: Greater Hays Creek Baptist Church Cemetery-Franklinton, LA.
