SHIRLEY JEAN WILLIAMS GREEN

Shirley Jean Green entered eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the age of 81. She was a native of Liberty, MS and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Shirley was graduate of Central High School in Liberty, MS. Mrs. Green was employed with Hotel Dieu Hospital and Charity Hospital as a certified nurse assistant. Loving mother of Sharon Green (Brian, Sr.) Joseph and the late Lt. Thomas Gregory Green. Grandmother of Ashenta Spears and Brian Joseph, Jr. Great great grandchildren of Jay’Mir Myers and Elijah Williams. Daughter of the late Samuel T. Veals and Ruby Jenkins. Granddaughter of the late Mahalie Williams. Sister of Sarah Taylor. Shirley is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Celebration at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the above-named parlor.
