SAMMIE WALKER, JR.

Sammie “LoBo” Walker, Jr., entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 76. He was a native of Waterproof, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Sammie was a devoted member of Mt. Pilgrim 4th Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and assisted with many responsibilities and community outreach events. His passion for motorcycle-riding started as a young adult and led him to become a lifelong member of the Soul Knights Inc. Motorcycle Club. He always corrected others if they were called a gang. He would reply, “We’re a club, not a gang. Gangs tear down communities, and the Soul Knights supports their community.” His innate leadership personality steered him towards the Masonic Order, where he served honorably. Sammie provided for his family through his work at Entergy for multiple decades before retiring at age 62. Beloved husband of 57 years to Mollie Clark Walker. Devoted father of Sandra Leonard, Jeanie Walker, Alica Walker, Taminika Walker (Steven) Roy, Christopher (Joneca) Walker, Sr. and the late Henry Johnson, and Sammy Walker, Jr. Son of the late Florence Walker and Sammie Synder. Brother of Jacob England Jr., Edna (James) Robinson, William (Valerie) England, Mary (Derrick) Pugh, Willis (Valarie) England, and the late Florence Evans, Floresta Coleman, and Harriett Green. Also cherishing his memories are 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and many dear friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Pilgrim 4th Baptist Church, Second Highway Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of Soul Knights Inc. Motorcycle Club and Richmond Lodge #1 MWPHGL of LA are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Second Highway Baptist Church 1533 Haydel Dr. Marrero, LA on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 9:00a.m. Pastor Joseph Johnson, host pastor; Rev. Larry P. Steib, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery Avondale, LA.
