SALVADOR BARTHOLOMEW GERARD SALONE

Salvador (Sal) Bartholomew Gerard Salone passed away peacefully in his Metairie home on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the age of 56 in the arms of his Heavenly Father.  Sal was born August 18, 1964 in New Orleans, Louisiana and lived in Terrytown, New Orleans East, Kenner, and Destrehan. He graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in 1982. He attended Celebration Church. Loving father of Anthony (Whitney), Salvador (Amy) and Leah Salone. Grandfather of Peyton Petric and Blake Salone. He is the son of the Salvador Peter Salone and Theresa Thumfart, stepson to Erhard Thumfart. Sal is the brother of Michael (Becky), MaryAnne (Karl), Regina (Denver), Dina (Rene), Theresa “Tracie” (Chris), Julie (Brett), and Vanessa (Christian). Stepbrother of Stephen, Mary, Thomas and Michael Faucheaux.   He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Sal was a production manager at Chisesi Brothers Meat Packing Co. for the past five years where he was highly respected by all his co-workers. He was a perfectionist that was admired by all. Sal understood hardship, the need for grace and the power of forgiveness. He had an open heart an infectious laugh, a joyful spirit and a persistent faith that carried him through both the darkest and brightest hours. Sal was a very loving and devoted son to his mother which was visible through his everyday actions. His family and friends will greatly miss him and are grateful for the peace that comes with knowing he is in Heaven partying up with his father, Salvador P. Salone, his sister Regina Garrett and nephew Brandon Salone. There will be a celebration of life held at Celebration Church 2001 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. Check ya later, Sal. Until we meet again!
