RUBY MAE DORSEY

Ruby Mae Hayes Dorsey departed this life on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 71. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Ruby was employed as a caregiver, and a pilar in her community. Beloved mother of Myron Dorsey, Sr., Jermaine Dorsey, Yada Dorsey, Pia Dorsey, and the late Kenya Cecilia Hayes. Daughter of the late Phillip Hogan, Sr., and Saint Cecilia Odeal Hayes. Sister of the late Vera Hayes, Helen Corder, Benjamin Hayes, and Phillip Hogan, Jr. Godmother of Shantrelle Boothe, also survived by a host of 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Good Hope Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Good Hope Baptist Church 2028 Weyer St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Visitation begins at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above name church.
