ROSALIND MANUEL HAWKINS

Rosalind “Ros” Manuel Hawkins, age 74, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Sunday October 25, 2026, at University Medical Center. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Rosalind was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Delgado Community College. She was employed with the Louisiana Department of Health, dedicating over 30 years of exemplary service. Rosalind was a faithful member of Life Center Cathedral Family Life Center. Devoted mother of Richard (Sonji) Hawkins III and Chad L. Hawkins. Beloved daughter of Grace Dumas Sumner and the late Raynard (Mary) Manuel, Sr. Granddaughter of the late George Sr. and Sophia Walker Dumas. Loving sister of Marilyn (Raymond Sr.) Patin, Paula (Wendell) Hampton, Bishop Raynard (Terry) Manuel, Jr., Norman Rodgers, Donnie (Amanda) Manuel, Darrell Manuel, and the late Kevin Manuel, Sr., James “JB” Rodgers, and Cynthia Manuel. Goddaughter of the late Joseph Lemieux and Ceola Davis. Godmother of Ireon Hampton and Kakisha Manuel. Sister-in-law of Marilyn Manuel. Also cherishing her memories are her best friends of over 50 years, Gilda Cox and Lillian Gray, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Life Center Cathedral Family Life Center, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Nexus Community Church of East Point, GA and all neighboring churches; employees of Louisiana Dept. of Health, West Jefferson Medical Center and The Brandy Corp. are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Life Center Cathedral Family Life Center on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Bishop J.
