Rosalie Syhailah Smith-Raheem entered eternal rest at JoEllen Smith Convalescent Center on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of 84. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Rosalie was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School, and she attended Straight Business College. She was a retired paraprofessional with the New Orleans Parish Public School System and a self-employed seamstress / tailor employee. Beloved mother of Blanche Raheem (Darren) Johnson, Khayriyyah Raheem, Safiyyah Raheem, Joseph Raheem, Jr., Clorenza Raheem, and Abu (Tywanda) Raheeem. Daughter of the late Albert Smith, Sr. and Ira Moore Thompson Smith. Sister of Delores Smith Coleman, and the late Ulysses, Albert, Jr., Oliver, Alvin, and Arthur Smith, Ruby Taylor, Clorenza Miles, Mildred “Nanny” Smith, Ira Mae Medice, and Linconia Brooks, also survived by 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Asbury United Methodist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Asbury United Methodist Church 2725 Ernest St. New Orleans, LA, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above-named church.
