ROLAND JOHN BROWN, SR.

October 16, 1936 — February 20, 2022

Roland John Brown, Sr., age 85, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, February 20, 2022. He was a native of New Orleans, LA, and a resident of Waggaman, LA. Roland was a graduate at Epiphany Catholic School, and a retired mechanic. Devoted husband of Barbara M. Brown. Father of Roland Brown, Jr., Cynthia Brown, Michael Brown, Pamela King, Randy Brown, Ronald Evans, and the late Judge Evans. Son of the late Alfred Brown, and Hilda Brown. Brother of Evangelina Brown, and the late Ferdinand, Wilfred, Melvin, Alton, Verdell, Vernon, and Ervin. Grandfather of the late Verdell Brown, also survived by 25 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and The City of Love, and all neighboring churches are invited to the Celebration of Life at The City of Love, 8601 Palmetto St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 11:00am. Visitation will begin at 10:00am at the above-named church. Interment: Providence Memorial Park Cemetery-Metairie, LA.
