Roland James Bennett entered into eternal rest at Heart of Hospice Metairie on Friday, July 16, 2021, at the age of 54. He was a native New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Roland was a self-employed fisherman, construction worker, and donut fryer. Beloved wife of Shameeka McKinney. Devoted father of Roland McKinney, Roland, Ronesha McKinney, Rolynn, Rolanda, and Kawanda Thomas. Loving grandfather of Ishmael Muhammad and Gemini McKinney. Son of the late Simon Peter Bennett and Dorothy Mae Bennett. Brother of Kevin, Aaron, Darnell, Lydia, Denise, Shalitha, Tyra, and Sherelle Bennett, and the late Peter, Kendrick, Kerry, Marilynn, Shelia, and Loretta Bennett, Sr. Son in law of the late Larry Wilson McKinney, Sr. Brother in law of the late Larry Wilson McKinney, Jr., also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in laws, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Samuel Travis, officiating.
