ROLAND W ACOX

Roland W. Acox, age 89, departed this life on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Reserve, LA. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Avondale, LA. Roland was a retired USPS Letter Carrier and served in the U.S. Army. Devoted husband of the late Henrietta Green Acox. Beloved father of Rhonda Acox of Gretna, LA, Roline (Earnest) Thomas of Little Rock, AR, and Ryan Rose of Algiers, LA. Son of the late Jackson V. Acox, Sr.  and Anna Harris Acox. Great grandfather of the late Samson Dorsett. Brother of the late Wilbert Acox and Jackson Acox, Jr. Godfather of Tanya Green of Houston, TX. Cousin of Jacqueline Buckner of Hartford, CN, whom he treated as a daughter, also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Zion Baptist Church and neighboring churches;  the KAWK community are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at New Zion Baptist Church, 2319 Third Street, New Orleans, LA on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Dr. C.
