Robert Anthony passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the age of 76. He was a native of Garyville, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Robert served his country as a Sergeant in the United State Army during the Vietnam War. He received numerous commendations, including the Purple Heart. Robert retired after 39 years as a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. He was an active member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Gretna for over 35 years. Robert was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, who also enjoyed fishing, bowling, biking, and swimming. Beloved husband of over 51 years to Eunice E. Anthony. Devoted father of Deisha (Howard Jr.) Amos, Robyn Anthony, Alana Anthony, and Amanda Anthony. Loving grandfather of Howard Amos, III and Brittany Amos. Son of the late Thomas “Bill” Anthony, Sr. and Louise “Rachel” Anderson. Brother of Barbara Jean Anthony of Laplace, LA and the late Irma Honor, Carolyn Jean-Baptiste, Thomas Anthony, Jr., and Dan Anthony. Robert is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Paul Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Orin Grant, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
