RITA WILLIAMS FERDINAND

Rita William Ferdinand entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the age of 99. She was a native of Algiers, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Rita was an active and oldest living parishioner of St.  Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Beloved wife of the late John O. Ferdinand, Sr. Loving mother of Rose Marie Merriday, Larry John Ferdinand, John O. Ferdinand, Jr., and the late Harry John Ferdinand. Daughter of the late Oscar and Marion Williams. Sister of Vanessa Williams and the late Mervin Williams, Marion Williams Jackson, and James L. Davis. Rita is also leaves to celebrate her memories, her niece Merlin Jackson, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 11:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, III, celebrant Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m.; Recitation of the Rosary 9:45a.m.; Followed by Tribute. Interment: Our Lady of Prompt Succor (Holy Garden of Angels Mausoleum), Westwego, LA.
