Rita Faye Williams Jones, age 72, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Monday, June 3, 2024. She was a native of Marrero, LA (Walkertown Community), and a resident of Denver, CO. Rita was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School, and she later attended Community College of Aurora (CCA), where she obtained an associate degree. Rita proudly served her country as a member of the United States Army. After completing her military service, she returned home and opened ABC Daycare, providing nurturing and development of young minds. In July of 1988, Rita and her family relocated to Denver, CO and she became gainfully employed as a healthcare provider. With a desire to provide services to the developmentally disabled, mentally ill, and elderly, she and her family established Independent Growth Home Health Care Center. Rita was a faithful member and usher at Peaceful Rest Baptist Church in Aurora, CO. She was also a member of Five Points Lions Club, the Elks Club and Purple Cross Nurses Organization. Beloved wife of 54 years to Paul Jones, Sr. Devoted mother of Paul (Laura) Jones, Jr. and Ryan (Sommer) Jones, Sr. Loving grandmother of Kedrige, Deron, Ryan Jr., Zyan Jones, and Keonte Kennedy. Daughter of the late Harry, Sr. and Edna Corner Williams. Sister of Robert Williams, and the late Harry, Jr., Henry, Felton and Lucille Williams, Edna Winesberry, Joyce Pierre, Gail Walker, and Darlene Zeno. Daughter-in law of the late Lawrence and Leotha Jones. Sister-in-law Ronald, Pernell, and William Jones, Sharon Jones Hoffmeister, and the late Samuel Pierre, Lawrence Jones, Jr., Edwina Williams, Ida Williams, and Florence Jones. Devoted friend of Jeanette Turner and Linda Spears; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Road, Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Terrence A. Ranson, Sr., host pastor; Rev. Ernest Weber, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Evening Star Cemetery-Harvey, LA.
