Rev. Anthony Harris Williams

January 9, 1948 — August 22, 2021

Rev. Anthony Harris Williams, age 73, transitioned from this life peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021, surrounded by his children. He was a native of Edgard, LA and a lifelong resident of the Westbank of Jefferson Parish. Rev. Williams was a retired Supervisor of Jefferson Community Action Program (JeffCAP). He was a graduate of A. P. Clay Bible College, where he obtained a B. A. degree and Master of Theology. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Bethesda House of Prayer where he was the Executive Pastor, mentoring, teaching, and assisting his youngest brother Rev. Dr. Donald R. Jones with spreading the goodness of God’s word.  Loving father of Venus E. Williams, Anthony Smith, Derrick Morris, Sr. (Latoya), Trinity Smith (Shankinah), Chelette Smith-Jones (Brandon), and Tirell Smith. Stepfather of Lynell Ellis, Keith Ellis (Ebony), Christopher T. Brown (Christine), and Shannon Ellis Pharrell (Derren). Son of the late Thomas Jones, Sr. and Celestine Harris Jones. Brother of Martin Jones, Sr. (Melvina), Dianna M. Jones, Michael Jones, Sr., Rev. Donald R. Jones (Gwendolyn), Christine Jones, Susanne Jones, and the late Catherine Jones, Thomas Jones, Jr., Selton Jones, Sr., and Ronald Jones. Brother-n-law of Denise Hobbs, Paulette Jones, and Willie Claudette Jones. Rev. William is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 step-grandchildren, 6 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Bethesda House of Prayer, Little Zion Baptist Church #3 and all neighboring churches; employees of JeffCAP are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Bethesda House of Prayer, 7601 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 18, 201 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
