Rayvin Akile “Kila” Kennedy, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 58. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Rayvin was employed as a security officer with NOLA Protection Group. Beloved husband of Takita Nickerson Kennedy. Loving father of Shenica and Shedrick Hamilton, Marquise Lewis, Laniqua, Farrin, Raheem, Kierra, Rayvin, Ryan, Rayden, and Rayne Kennedy. Grandfather of the late Dream G. Kennedy. Son of the late Lawrence Kennedy, Sr. and Genevieve Rankins Kennedy. Grandson of the late Buddy and Pearly Rankins, Medrick and Louella Kennedy. Brother of Latasha, Lakena, Lashawn, John, and Lawrence Kennedy, Jr. Nephew of Joyce Ann Moore. Son in law of Hubert (Vernetta) Sellers and Pamela Harry. Brother in law of Steven Nickerson and Veronique Kennedy. Rayvin is also survived by 9 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Second St. Missionary John Baptist Church 242 Avondale Garden Rd. Avondale, LA. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Damian J. Brown, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service at the church.
