Raymond Bartholomew Ellison, Sr., age 96, departed this life at his residence on Sunday, March 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Beloved husband of the late Leontine Berry-Ellison. Loving father of Tina Marie Ellison, Raymond (Brenda) Ellison, Jr., Lafrance (Richard) Gremillion, and Shannon Aletha Ellison. Son of the late Rev. Samuel J. and Ethel Rayo Ellison. Brother of Odile Ellison Berry, Rose Ellison Marts, and the late Samuel, Jr., Edgar, Lionel, Calvin, and Alvin Ellison. Raymond is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Joseph Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Joseph Baptist Church, 1100 Odeon Avenue, Algiers, LA on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Haywood Johnson, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
