QUEEN ESTHER MEGGS

Queen Esther Meggs  entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the age of 78. She was a native of Belzoni, MS and resident of Avondale, LA. Beloved wife of the late Freddie Meggs, Sr. Devoted mother of Cynthia Vaughn, Freddie Meggs, and Deon Meggs. Daughter of the late Porter Johnson and Queenie Lee. Stepdaughter of the late W H Lee, Sr. Sister of W H Lee, Jr., George Lee, Calvin Lee, Keith Lee, Kenny Lee, Evelyn Muse, Maggie Mitchell, Barbara Lee and the late Dorothy Harris, and Marilyn Jones. Mother in law of Mary Meggs and the late Ronald Vaughn. Sister in law of the late Cindy Lee and Richard Harris, also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Highway Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Highway Baptist Church, 1533 Haydel Dr. Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor John Johnson officiating.
