Rev. Alfridia Loston, pastor emeritus of St. Rock Baptist Church of Harvey, LA, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the age of 94. He was a native of Armistead, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Rev. Loston was a graduate of Christian Bible College of Louisiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Theology degree. He later obtained his Masters and Doctorate degrees from A. P. Clay Theological College in Kenner, LA. While serving as a faithful deacon of New Bethel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor S. Knoton, Sr., Rev. Loston became the assistant pastor. He later became assistant pastor of St. Rock Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Rev. George Washington. Rev. Loston was ordained in 2001, and after Pastor Washington health began to decline, he was installed as pastor of St. Rock Baptist Church. Under his leadership, Pastor Loston, lead many people to accept Christ as their personal Savior. He served his congregation and community through outreach ministries and with Hope Awareness Youth Outreach Organization, where he served as Vice President, providing food and gifts for families in need during the holidays. He was also active with the Christian Progressive Education Association, formerly serving as First Vice President. In 2018, after 17 years of dutiful service as pastor of St. Rock Baptist Church, he retired and honorably earned the title as Pastor Emertius. He continued to occasionally preach Sunday Services at St. Rock Baptist Church, delivering his final sermon on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Pastor Loston was also a retired manager of Pipe Distributor Company. Beloved husband by first marriage to the late Earline Cyrus Loston and by second marriage to the late Alma Wells Loston. Loving father of Debra (Derris) Butler, Edith (the late Albert) Kinsey, Karen Loston (Willie) Hatter, Annette Foley (Donnie) Lonon, Pamela Kent (Brett) Jackson, Yvonne Gafeney, Shirley Funchess, Johnny Ray (Janet) McCarty, Freddie McCarty, Henry Lee (Kearn) Loston, Tommie J. Johnson, Charlie (the late Gail) Gear, and the late Nettie B. McCarty, Betty Banks, Earnestine Beasley, Milton McCarty, Eddie Loston, and Sammie Loston. Son of the late Henry and Susie Loston. Beloved brother of Waler Loston, Leo Loston, Cardia Davis, and Minnie Lou (Esse) Loveless. Brother-in-law of Robert Thomas, Annie Lemon, and Ellen Dale Hymon. Also cherishing his memories are 24 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, members of St. Rock Baptist Church, Rock of Ages Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; members of Christian Progressive Education Association are invited to attend the Homegoing Service at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Road, Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 17, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Terrence A. Ranson, host pastor; Bishop Leonard Franklin, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m until service time at the church. Interment: Evening Star Cemetery-Harvey, LA.
