Olivia Dempsey Gilmore Lewis entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Hazlehurst, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Olivia was a graduate of Lincoln High School. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to her faith, family, and community. She enjoyed bingo, traveling, fellowship with family and friends, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Devoted wife of the late Wilfred Lewis. Beloved mother of Cornelius (Theresa), Michael (Charmaine), Kenneth (Courtney), Nathlie (Oscar), Roxanne (Gregory), Leslie (Michael), Tamill, Leterasha (Damion) and the late Vincent “Baldy” Gilmore. Stepmother of Joseph (Gwendolyn) Boudion, Jarius (Courtney) Boudion, Robin Jackson, Brooksie Allen, and Ashley (Eric) Nash. Grandmother of the late Trent Gilmore and Marquis Coleman. Daughter of the late Jack Dempsey Gilmore and Ida Mae Gilmore. Sister of Janice Walker, Joe Gilmore, Ernest Gilmore, and the late Lorraine “Foxy” Gilmore, Carol Louise Clark, Jack Gilmore, and Thurman Gilmore. Godmother of Tabatha (Harold). Mother in law of Willette Boudion. Companion of the late Robert Allen. Olivia is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, members of Second Zion Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Second Zion Baptist Church 6520 Second Zion Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the above name church.
