Norman Norton Chavis, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 75. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Norman served his country in U. S. Navy for 10 years as a Second-Class Radioman. He was a retired medic transporter. Beloved husband of Audrey Y. Chavis. Loving father of Lashay Chavis (Darren) Turner, Willie (Cherlyn) Smith, Jr., Keyokké Smith (Taghi) Burns, Joy Smith (Carlos) Durant, and the late Duron Michael Chavis. Grandfather of Duron Singleton, Logan Page, Darren Turner, Jr., Tajah Smith, Taghi R. Burns, Jr., Keiondra A. Farria, Willie Smith, III, Ayana, Imani and Amari Durant. Great grandfather of Juelz F. Farria, and McKinlee Farria. Son of the late Ernest N. Chavis and Hilder Dorsey Chavis. Brother of the late Norwood Chavis. Norman is also survived by a host of other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 3721 N. Claiborne Ave., New Orleans, LA on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
