NATHANIEL MEREDITH

Nathaniel “Bookie” Meredith departed his life at OHSU Hospital in Portland, OR on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the age of 58. He was a native and resident of Gretna, LA. Nathaniel was employed as an Over the Road Truck Driver for CBSL. He was formerly employed as a foreman with Offshore Specialist Fabricators. Devoted father of Nathaniel Meredith, Jr., Bridney Meredith Hartford, Rasheem Burden, and Dylan Meredith. Beloved son of Wanda Jean Walters Meredith and the late Jules Meredith, Sr. Grandson of the late Samuel Meredith, Sr., Ophelia Meredith, Samuel Zerangue, Sr, and Virginia Zerangue. Loving brother of Jules Meredith, Jr. and Tara Equilla Meredith. Nathaniel is also survived by 9 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Paul Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of CBSL are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Paul Baptist Church,1509 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Orin Grant, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
