Murphy Clark, Jr., age 62, left this earthly world at his residence on Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Murphy was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School. He was formerly employed as a diesel mechanic and a construction contractor with various companies. His recent employment was with New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival as a transportation specialist, which brought him great pleasure. Murphy had a passion for cooking particularly barbecue and shrimp stew. His love of driving lead to many impromptu trips throughout the southern and western United States. He and his wife found great joy in traveling and sightseeing together. Loving husband of 24 years to Gladys Gayle Hunt Clark. Devoted father of Murphy (Dejah) Clark, III, Corey (Ericka) Bryant, ShaRon Hudson, Brandi Nicole Clark, Monique Bowens, and the late Lenzell “Lenny” Granville Cooper. Beloved son of Murphy Clark, Sr. and Audrey Fusilier Clark. Brother of Farneshia Celetain and Lucretia Clark. Nephew of the late Octavia Redmond, Orelia Carter, Dorothy Victor, Gloria Jaudon, Harry James Clark, Vincent Clark, and Joseph Fezier. Godson of the late Lewis and Lillie Mae Robinson. Godfather of Anita Weatherspoon and Dominque Roberson. Murphy is also survived by his daughter-in-law Kizzy Cooper, several grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m.; Recitation of the Rosary 9:00a.m.; Tribute to follow.
