MICKY BARNES

Micky Barnes, affectionately known as “Daddy-O”, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the age of 68. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Harvey, LA. Micky was a 1973 graduate of Alcee Fortier High School. He was a retired employee with Jefferson Parish General Services, and he served as a faithful deacon at his church. Loving husband of Jeanette Johnson Barnes for 44 years. Father of Miguel, Artist, and Nylisa Renee Barnes. Grandfather of Landen, Logan, Theodore, Kylea and Zoe. Beloved son of the late Thomas Blanton and Cordia Owens Barnes. Brother of Irma Jacques, Antoinette (Roosevelt) Stokes, Mary (Rev. Gregory) Ussin, Francine Howard, Carl and Cleve Barnes, Ronnie, and Gregory Howard. Father-in-law of Makeisha Barnes. Brother-in-law of Cynthia (Rev. Charlie) Davis, Willie (Barbara) Terry, Dave Asoro and Dwayne Jimcoily. Micky is also survived by a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Household of Faith and neighboring churches; employees of JP General Services, JP Public Schools, H&E Equip, A&H Armature Works, Reagan Equip, and Boomtown are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Household of Faith, 2074 Paxton Street Harvey, LA on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time.
