Michelle Haten, age 57, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Michelle was a graduate of John Ehret High School and formerly employed as a Patient Care Advocate with Volunteers of America, where her compassion and commitment touched the lives of many. She was a faithful and active member of Grace & Glory Family Worship Church International, serving joyfully with the usher ministry. She brought warmth and love wherever she went. Her laughter would light up a room, and her joy was contagious. Michelle lived with purpose, gave with her whole heart, and loved unconditionally. Devoted mother of Taira Patrice Black and Telvins Michael Black. Loving grandmother of Alayah Royal Dowden. Beloved daughter of the late Robert Louis Haten and Willie Ann Haten. Sister of Dorothy Ann (Rev. John) Brown, Minnie Pearl (the late Clarence) Thompson, Terry Louis (Sharon) Haten, Sr., Robert Earl Haten, Jr., Sheila Marie (Perry, Sr.) Williams, Patrick O’Neal (Tawanda) Haten, Deborah Fleming, and the late Glen Doria Haten. Also cherishing her memories, her best friend of 35 years Desiree Wilson Riggs, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, extended family members, church family, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Grace & Glory Family Worship Church International, St. Mary Baptist of Marrero, LA, Heartline Ministries of Dallas, TX, Faith of Hope Baptist Church of Kenner, LA, Household of Faith of Harvey, LA and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Grace & Glory Family Worship Church International, 802 Third Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Eileen Johnson, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Will be Private.
