Michael James “Skully” Varmall, Sr. entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 67. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA (Shrewsbury Community). Michael attended John H. Martyn High School and was employed as a construction laborer. Beloved husband of the late Denise Varmall. Devoted father of Daniyell (Bill) Fountain of Cleveland, OH, Michael (Razell) and Darren Johnson, Jarmall (Latoya) Varmall, Chavis (Shawnickeal “Tootie”) Varmall, and Michael Varmall, Jr. Cherished grandfather of Gregory, George, and Camille Fountain of Cleveland, OH, Mikielah, Kamore, Gavin, Gerald, and Asia Johnson, DeAntea, DeVante, Deandre, and Elijah Cooper, Jermall, Jr. Chaves, Cha’hariz, and Chad Varmall, Deja, Darren, and Darreion Johnson. Son of the late Clifford Daniels and Helen Hall Tureaud. Loving brother of Joyce Marie (June) Marsails, Cleatte (Kevin) Reeves, of Cleveland, OH, Diane and Karen Varmall, May Kay (James) Johnson, Stacey (Stanley) Davis, Jerilyn (Anthony) Willliams, Sonora (Darrell) Jackson, Keith (Connie) Varmall, Dexter (Cherline) Varmall, Kenneth (Jada) Varmall, Alvin (Regina) Varmall, and the late Irma Jean Daniels, Clifford Varmall, and Murray “Johnny” Varmall. Michael is also survived by his aunt Ethel May Hall, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of First Zion Baptist Church, Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Marrero, Pilgrim Baptist Church of Kenner, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at First Zion Baptist Church, 1221 Causeway Blvd., Jefferson, LA on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Graylin Burl, Jr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery, Westwego, LA.
