METOYER TYRONE JORDAN

December 2, 1975 — September 17, 2021

Metoyer “Toya” Tyrone Jordan, a retired Staff Sergeant of the United States Army, has flown into the arms of his Christ and Savior on Friday, September 17, 2021, in El Paso, TX at the age 45. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of El Paso, TX. Toya, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was 1994 graduate of John Ehret High School, and soon afterwards, joined the United States Army. While in the army, he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology. He served two successful deployments in Iraq. For his bravery he received numerous medals and commendations. Toya suffered combat wounds while serving his country. For this sacrifice while deployed, Metoyer was awarded the Purple Heart. Loving father of Brianna Michelle, Jailyn Tyrin, and Kyra Lanae. Beloved son of Willie Hezekiah Jordan, Jr. and Judy Jordan. Grandson of Evelyn Jordan, Sherman Jones, and the late Bobbie Elaine Jones and Willie Jordan, Sr.  Devoted brother of Aja Dashiell Washington. Uncle of Desmond Rashine Jordan. Nephew of the late Sherman, Jr. and Wanda. Brother -in-law of the late Marlin. Cousin of the late Robert, Jr. and Jeremy. Metoyer is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, and all neighboring churches; Toya’s military family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant.  Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m.; Recitation of the Rosary 8:45a.m.; Tribute to follow.
