MELVINA PRESTLY GORDON

Melvina Gordon, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. She was a native of Darrow, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Beloved wife of Cleveland Gordon. Loving mother of Mercedes (Aubrey) Jones, Odile Gordon, Betty Gordon, and the late Cleveland Gordon, Jr. Grandmother of Aubrey (Lindsey) Jones, Jr., and Valeri Jones. Great grandmother of Robinson and Reese Jones. Daughter of the late Herbert and Odeal Prestly. Sister of Sandra Fairman and the late Lloyd Herbert Prestly, Rudolph Prestly, Ruby Mae Simms, and Mary Thomas. Melvina is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of First King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, St. Paul Baptist Church of Gretna, LA, Christian Assembly of Gonzales, Second Pleasant Grove, Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Darrow, LA, Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Harvey, LA, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at First King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, 120 Plaza St. Bridge City, LA on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastors Louis Phenix, host pastor; Pastor Orin Grant, officiating  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
