MELVIN JEAN BALDWIN

Melvin Jean Baldwin, age 71, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Melvin Jean was a 1968 graduate of John H. Martyn High School. Beloved aunt of Dwyane Butler, whom she reared as her son. Loving sister of Mark (Beverly) and Ranell (Denise) Baldwin both of Laplace, LA, and the late Carl and Odette Baldwin.  Daughter of the late Melvin Baldwin and Dealoris Baldwin Hartman. Aunt of Harold Butler, Jr., (Loubertha), Carl Hutchinson, Christen Boykins, Tiffany O. Baldwin, Shamika Walsh, and Jakeitha Gray.  Niece of Bobbie W. Guy of Metairie, LA. Godmother of Bertell McDaniel and Niejua Lewis.  The Nanny of Whitney Patterson, Lenell and Nadia Lewis. Special friend of Linda Saucier, Jeannie Patterson, Kent Peter Lewis, and Gerald Jones; also survived by a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second New Guide Baptist Church, Progressive Church of Marrero, Rising Star Baptist Church of Laplace, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Service at Second New Guide Baptist Church, 1424 S. Dillon St. Metairie, LA on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Dale Sanders, Sr., host pastor; Rev.
