MAXINE VERDON WILTZ

December 17, 1941 — April 4, 2022

Maxine Neotha Verdon Wiltz entered int eternal rest on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the age of 80. She was native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Maxine was a 1959 graduate of Booker T. Washington Senior High School.  Mother Max or Boss-lady Max, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was formerly employed at Loyola University, and later became an assistant manager at various Popeyes Restaurants where she was employed for almost 30 years before retirement. After retirement she began to volunteer at the Marrero Senior Citizen Center where she met many lifelong friends. Devoted wife of 50 years to the late Adlus Wiltz Jr. Beloved mother of Deriohlin Charrise Wiltz, Sarel (Clarence) Birden, Adlus Wiltz III (Sandra), and Dave Wiltz (Monica Baker). Loving grandmother of Adrienne Rollins, Adlus Wiltz IV, Maya Birden, Tyrin Wiltz, Kavik and Nia Wiltz. Great grandmother of Noah Wiltz, Eric Hawkins Jr., and Isiah Rollins. Daughter of the late James Lee Verdon, Sr. and Louise Ela Palmer Verdon. Sister of the late Louise Broglin, and James Lee Verdon Jr. Former mother in law of Barbara Weber Wiltz, and Yonci Norelle Johnson. Sister in law of Melvin Wiltz, and Eunice Wiltz. An Eighty-year-old friendship with Doris Westrey, and a Special first cousin Anna Walker of Kankeke, IL. Faithful friend of Elder Sadie Mason, Sister Joyce Everson, and Sister Estelle Williams.  Maxine is also survived by her neighbors Rita Brown, Emma Thompson, Elaine LaSalle, Amanda Johnson, Maxine Richardson, and a host of other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Calvary International Worship Center and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mt. Calvary International Worship Center, 1600 Westwood Dr. Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Apostle Terry Gullage, Sr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the above-named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA.
