MATTHEW WHITE

Matthew J. White, affectionately known as “The Flea”, departed this life at Touro Infirmary LCMC Health on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the age of 69. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Matthew was employed as a carpenter. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and devotion to family and friends. Loving father of Kisa (Jewell) and Matthew (Essence); bonus father of Gerrin, Sr. and Cendra. Son of the late Matthew Jones, Sr. and Joann White-Pierce. Grandson of the late Juanita White-Butler. Great grandson of the late Queenie White. Beloved brother of Deborah (Anthony), Elynda, Anginette (Tracy), Matthew, Jr. (Sarah), Darrin (Tammye), Paul (Carolyn), and the late Willie J. White and Terry C. White. Uncle of the late Sierra J. White and Donjuan R. White. Great-uncle of the late Ca’miri Rose. Nephew of Queenie Fay White and the late Deedee Jackson and Chester “Billy” White. Also cherishing his memories are 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Next Generation of Original Morning Star Full Gospel Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Next Generation of Original Morning Star Full Gospel Baptist Church, 3536 St. Ferdinand Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Apostle Tyrone Smith, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Will be Private.
