Mary Angeline Williams Young, age 84, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Mary was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, and she attended Southern University. She retired from the State of Louisiana Department of Health, after many years of service. Mary was a faithful elder of Life Center Cathedral Family Life Center. Mary was also a member and secretary of the September Movement Birthday Club. Beloved wife of the late Bernard Young. Loving mother of Reginald Jackson, June Mitchell, Bernadine Smith, Peter Young, and the late Darvin Jackson. Devoted grandmother of Semika Jackson Stevenson, Peter (Kita) Young, Micheal (Nichol) Young, Reginald Jackson, Simone (Danatae) Green, Amy Young, Frank Smith, Micheal Smith, Jerone Mitchell, and Tiffany Jackson. Daughter of the late Aaron Wiliams and Ruth Moore Williams. Sister of Daphanie Jean Williams Rankin and the late Calvin Aaron Williams and Abron Moore Williams. Niece of Helena Jenkins. Devoted aunt of Lynette Savalia and Lyndon Rankin. Goddaughter of the late Clara Thompson. God sister of Thomas and Joe Thompson, Jr. Mary is also survived by 26 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Life Center Cathedral Family Life Center and all neighboring churches are invited to attend THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE at Life Center Cathedral Family Life Center, 2100 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Bishop J. Douglas Wiley, officiating. Viewing will be held from 8am-10am ONLY at the church. Interment: Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
