MARY H. GRIFFIN

Mary Hayes Griffin entered eternal rest at her residence on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the age of 81. She was a native of Woodville, MS and a resident of Avondale, LA. Mary was a retired housekeeper with Holiday Inn. She was a faithful member of Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church and served as a Deaconess, President of the Senior Mission Board, and as a faithful bible study and Sunday school servant. Beloved wife of John Griffin. Loving mother of Sylvia (Ronald) Williams, Cynthia Woods, Andrew (Turnisha) Griffin, and the late Johnny Griffin. Daughter of the late Clarence and Carrie Hayes. Sister of Clarence Hayes, Pearly Porter, Esther Hayes, and the late Jerry Hayes, M. L. Hayes, Mable Bruce, Geraldine Jackson, and Katherine, Hayes. Sister in law of the late Rev E. L. Porter, also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, numerous bonus grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of West Jefferson Staff, and Cancer Center are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church 242 Avondale Garden Rd. Avondale, LA on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Damian Brown, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
